ALL IN AUTHORITY
Scripture Reading - 1 Timothy 2:1-6
1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. KJV
In this teaching by the Apostle Paul let us take notice of how we are exhorted (admonished, urged to pursue) to pray. We can see there are various types of prayers to choose from when speaking to God. For instance the prayer of supplication usually is a definite request to God similar to a petition. Another type of prayer is intercessions which pledges to God on the behalf of another hoping to bring God’s blessing (His Will) upon someone other than yourself. There is also the prayer of just fellowship and communicating with God to see more of His Heart as He guides your heart and soul into all truth. Although there are several types of prayers we must remember to give thanks unto God our Father for answering all of our various prayers in the Name of Jesus. The following verses teach us to pray for the salvation of our leaders through Jesus Christ and that those in authority would come unto the knowledge of truth. This type of prayer applies to all people, saved and unsaved, because Jesus said you shall know the truth and the truth you know will make you free.-John 8:31,32 This means it is God’s Will to save all our leaders for eternity and for them to know God’s Will for their nation right now. This knowledge will enable them to make wise decisions, which will help all those under their leadership to live a better life of peace through the knowledge of God’s Word. This will bring back the original intentions of our forefathers, which is “One Nation under God indivisible”. Remember what God has put together through the message of Jesus Christ let not men or the devil put asunder. Amen!
